Eternal Bloom
Screenprint with Prismacolor | 24” x 28” | 2024
This mixed media piece combines screen printing with Prismacolor pencils to create a vivid effect. The central imagery features a large flower, with smaller ones in the corners, inspired by the design of papel picado. Within the petals of the main flower, calaveras (skulls) with heart-shaped eyes symbolize loved ones who have passed. This blend of flowers and calaveras reflects the cyclical nature of life and death, while also honoring how we keep the memories of our loved ones alive through Día de los Muertos. The skillful gradation of color adds vibrancy and depth, making the flower seem to lift off the page.
