Made With Love
Woodcut and screenprint with graphite | 40” x 26” | 2015
This work puts the viewer in my seat at our family table during our annual tamale making session. Love of family through food and tradition is what I convey in this work. The red of the screenprint symbolizes the blood I would spill for them and the blood split trying to erase us. Every year we give dozens and dozens of tamales away to show our love and celebrate our culture.
